چکیده

This paper proposes a wide-band noise reduction method using temporal accumulated spectrum and zero phase (ZP) signal. In the previous study, we replace the ZP signal around the origin with the ZP signal in the second or latter period to get an estimated speech ZP signal. For very low SNR environment, reliable period estimation is difficult. This paper presents a study of period estimation in noisy speech based on temporal-spectral representation. Since harmonic structure of speech changes much more slowly than noise spectrum, spectral peaks related to period harmonics would stand out over the noise through the accumulation. In this paper, we combine robust period estimation technique and ZP noise suppressor. The major advantages of this method are that it can reduce not only stationary wide-band noises but also non-stationary wide-band noises and does not require a prior estimation of the noise spectral amplitude. Simulation results show that the proposed noise reduction method further improves the SNR especially in a low SNR environment.

A Phase Noise Reduction Technique in LC Cross-coupled Oscillators with Adjusting Transistors Operating Regions

In this paper, an intuitive analysis of a phase noise reduction technique is done, and then a modified structure is proposed to achieve higher phase noise reduction than the original one. This method reduces the impact of noise sources on the phase noise by decreasing closed-loop gain in zero-crossings points and moving this high closed-loop gain to the non-zero-crossings points. This reduction...

Design of a High Range, High Efficiency Spread Spectrum Transmitter for Audio Communication Applications

This work proposes a direct sequence spread spectrum transmitter with high transmission range and efficiency for audio signals. It is shown that by choosing high process gain for spread spectrum signal the data could reach a range of 55km in the 2.4GHz ISM band. By employing a light modulation scheme, we have a relaxed SNR requirement for having a low bit error rate (BER) which translates to re...

Accurate autoregressive spectrum estimation at low signal-to-noise ratio using a phase matching technique

This paper describes a new method of accurately estimating the parameters of an autoregressive (AR) process contaminated by high-level white noise. Based on the phase matching technique, it minimizes the difference between the phase of the all-zero model and the phase of the maximum phase signal reconstructed from the power spectrum of the observed signal. The parameters of the AR model are obt...

Enhancement of Noise Performance in Digital Receivers by Over Sampling the Received Signal

In wireless channel the noise has a zero mean. This channel property can be used in the enhancement of the noise performance in the digital receivers by oversampling the received signal and calculating the decision variable based on the time average of more than one sample of the received signal. The averaging process will reduce the effect of the noise in the decision variable that will approa...
